Rare ingredients in the beauty products that we purchase are basically the main reason why we surrender to these high prices. Well, that and the product’s ability to deliver the results we need. About a week ago I received three products from a fairly new and innovative skin care company. This review was a challenge for me because my wrinkles and I had a difficult time deciding whether the ingredients used in the products were rare- or just plain weird. Even with all of my research beforehand; I still needed to let the results of the products speak for themselves and justify the price.

Allow me to introduce you to Venofÿe. More specifically, their Apitoxin Collagen Collection. This collection has been manufactured to diminish wrinkles, give your skin a soft texture and provide a revitalized appearance.

The color of this packaging is nice, right? Normally, skin care products come in standard black, gray, or white packaging. However, Venofÿe took a good risk with this matte shade of light green that is also hinted with gold metallic.

The Ingredient Check …

The name apitoxin caused slight curiosity. But, when I noticed there were honeycombs on the packaging as well, my curiosity intensified. That sparked the beginning of research for the Apitoxin Collagen Collection -and I was in for an unusual surprise. I received the Apitoxin Collagen Mask, Apitoxin Collagen Cream and the Apitoxin Collagen Night Recovery. I started to look into all three of these product’s ingredients.

Do you know what apitoxin is? Good, because I didn’t either. I had recognized the word from reading a beauty magazine several months ago. The word seemed too complex and at that time I decided not to continue reading up on it. However, now that I was expected to put this ingredient on my beloved face. I was ready to find out what this intimidating word actually meant.

What is Apitoxin?

It turns out that Apitoxin is more commonly known as bee venom. Yup, you read that right. According to WebMd.com, apitoxin is another name used for the poison that makes bee stings painful. I’m guessing that right now you have the same confused look on your face as I did when finding that definition.

Currently, I’ve been experiencing some serious skin problems. For instance, I ate a chocolate bar and skipped a day of drinking water. And, a few years ago I could do this and have no skin reaction. Not, now. I spent my entire weekend in bed because the breakout I awakened to that Friday (on top of my usual wrinkles) left my face atrocious. I shared that to say: even though I have skin issues, I did not think I was at the point where I needed to no longer run from a bee’s stinger, but run to it to have clear, soft skin. This just didn’t seem ethical.

The Scoop on Venofÿe

Honestly, I began to ask myself, could this be a scam? Nowadays the weirder products become the trendier and more popular they become too. Therefore, next, I had to dive a little deeper into the company Venofÿe, to make sure skincare was their best interest and not sales.

I found that Venofÿe has done diligent research and used advanced technologies to find that venom is actually what anti-aging skincare products have been needing all along. On their website Venofÿe states, “Scientific research and advanced technologies play a role in each of our product formulations, but we don’t concentrate on growth at the cost of our values and traditional beliefs. In fact, Venofÿe products pair the best of both worlds by introducing you to the beautifying benefits of venom and partnering it with high quality skin care ingredients that have found a place in skin care regimens for decades such as green tea, collagen and vitamin A.”

Venofÿe also entails their mission: “helps you along your journey by introducing you to a range of products and collections which allow you to revitalize the look of your skin and feel as beautiful as you deserve to.”

Well, looks like my scam speculations were completely wrong. For years bee venom has been used for much more than just making humans run. Bee venom has been proven to:

But Still, How Does Bee Venom Help?

Sorry for the delay on the review, but I still needed answers. I needed to know exactly how this venom works and why I should feel safe putting it on my skin. That’s when I found the term melittin. This is found in the venom of honey bees. When the venom is released onto skin the melittin attaches to the skin cells and through a chain of events causes them to absorb oxygen and amino acids. Which means our skin starts to become firm. And, this is our skin’s reaction to bee stings. So, when we use products with venom in them, we are tricking our skin to act as if we have just come into contact with a bee sting and in defense our skin will start to fight back with skin firming and rejuvenation. Wow, this is un-bee-lievable… so without any more confusion and hesitation- let’s start this review.

My Week Review

Apitoxin Collagen Cream

I always like to start with a day cream for most skin care reviews. This allows me to monitor how the product works throughout the day and monitor allergic reactions. Bee venom as an ingredient definitely alerted me to pay close attention for signs of an allergic reaction. Warning: if you start to experience any swelling, itching or redness this could be an allergic reaction and you should discontinue using this product. The symptoms will only get worse.

I thoroughly cleaned my face that morning and started applying the Apitoxin Collagen Cream on my skin.

Most daytime creams and moisturizers are for daily use. However, the Apitoxin Collagen Cream has directions to only use once a week or as directed by a beautician (I’m glad I read the directions and noticed this.) Here’s the amount I used on my face.

I placed dabs of product around the areas I needed help in most. Then I massaged the moisturizer completely in my skin. I must say this entire process felt great. The texture of the moisturizer is very silky. The density is light, however, it’s also rich and still needed to be massaged in for several seconds. My skin felt extraordinary when the moisturizer completely absorbed. Remember I had recently rid my skin from a bad breakout. To heal I hadn’t worn any skincare products for a couple of days. This moisturizer completely revived my skin.

Besides the great result, the next best part about this process was the smell of the product. Usually, collagen skin care products have a stale or acidic smell. So, to make sure I don’t go to work smelling like Tupperware I have to spray a fragrance too. However, the Apitoxin Collagen Cream smells delightful and it was all I needed.

I applied this moisturizer in the wee hours of the morning around 7:00 am and the moisture lasted throughout the entire day. At about 7:00 pm I could feel my face was ready for a cleaning. By that time, it was also time for the Apitoxin Collagen Night Recovery.

Apitoxin Collagen Night Recovery

The Apitoxin Collagen Night Recovery has a description from Venofÿe that states, Enhance your skincare routine with the Apitoxin Collagen Night Recovery. Enjoy this beautifying rich blend and wake up to a smooth, soft and refreshed feeling in the morning. Infused with ingredients chosen especially to plump up your skin, it’ll assist in reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.” That’s exactly what I’m looking for, Venofÿe. This product doesn’t have a recommended usage rate on the box, so I decided to use it every night.

I was surprised to see a clear substance come out of the spout. I thought it would be white like the Apitoxin Collagen Cream. I cleaned my face and applied the Apitoxin Collagen Night Recovery. This product instantly gave me a cooling sensation. Personally, I prefer products that give me a tingly or cooling feeling immediately (it makes me feel more secure that they’re working.) I recommend using a little at a time. This gel spreads widely. I massaged the gel in using circular motions.

The cooling and soothing sensation from the product was perfect for nighttime. But, I did notice a tacky residue on my skin afterward. It didn’t bother me too much- it is nighttime after all. And, my skin felt really good and moisturized. Therefore, I wasn’t too bummed about the residue. I slept like a baby. The next morning (and this isn’t a joke) I noticed a huge difference in my skin. I had my long- lost radiance back, and the area around my eyes seemed to be firmer with fewer wrinkles.

I needed to know the secret to these wonderful results. I thought there may be some good ole honey in this nighttime recovery gel too. However, I was wrong, again. I checked out the ingredients and found green tea (Carmellia Sinensis) as one. I knew drinking green tea was just about good for everything in your body, but I was curious to know how green tea extracts directly helped our skin.

The Skin Benefits of Green Tea Extracts are:

  • Cancels skin discoloration
  • Assists in the removal of cellulite marks
  • Exfoliates
  • Clears pores of dead skin, bacteria, and dirt
  • Strengthens circulation
  • Helps lessen puffiness
  • Prevents blackheads
  • Protects skin from dangerous sun rays

Venofÿe has created a masterpiece by using these two powerful ingredients, apitoxin and green tea in one product.

Apitoxin Collagen Mask

It was only day two and I went from being overly suspicious about Venofÿe products to overly excited to try more- that quick. I had one more product to try out. That next night I cleaned my face and applied the Apitoxin Collagen Mask.

This product had a mint green tint and had a very pleasant botanical smell to it as well. This mask has rare ingredients and promises to, “help reduce the appearance of fine lines and restore the volume to aging skin. The Apitoxin Collagen Mask will leave your skin with a revived and refreshed sensation” according to the website. The directions are very specific. They instruct to start around the eye area and work your way around to the rest of your face and neckline. This mask should be left on for ten minutes and then rinsed off with cool water. There’s an application tool that came along with the mask too. This helped evenly distribute the mask and create less of a mess.

The mask has a similar texture to the cream. I also felt a cooling sensation immediately. I started applying the mask with a chunky scoop and followed instructions. That covered about half of my face and needed another scoop for my other half and neckline. The cooling sensation intensified throughout the ten minutes. It turned more into an airy feeling. My pores were definitely cleared and absorbing oxygen.

After the ten minutes were up. I cleansed my face with cold water and did a pat dry. Okay, here’s where I made an error. On the Apitoxin Collagen Mask box it states to use the Apitoxin Collagen Cream afterward (for best results.) Well, I had already used the collagen cream once this week. But I figured it won’t hurt to use a small amount again. So, I used it again. The only major thing that happened was even softer skin. Please don’t think I’m exaggerating, these products did exactly what they said they would and more!

My Conclusion

Throughout the week I continued to use the Apitoxin Collagen Night Recovery every night. I saw definite results of fewer wrinkles and a continual soft texture by day three. I felt like I had shed my old skin and been gifted a new set of teenager skin (okay, that sounds a little gross.) But, seriously Venofÿe is by far one of my favorite products tested so far.

Worth the Price?

Here are the prices for each product:

  • Apitoxin Collagen Night Recovery: $600
  • Apitoxin Collagen Mask: $800
  • Apitoxin Collagen Cream: $600
  • The Apitoxin Collagen Collection (includes all three): $2000

I think all of these products are worth the price and should all be bought and used together. Buying the Apitoxin Collagen Collection is the best bet for anyone seeking rejuvenated skin. This collection proved its worth and delivered great results on my skin. Plus, they smell good. In my opinion that’s the total package right there for any anti-aging product purchase.
